Community Service
Concern for Society
One of the key values, attitudes, and attributes of HPL is Concern for Society. This is embedded in our culture at GEMS Royal Dubai School.
“The ability to know the contribution you can make to society for the benefit of those less fortunate; demonstrate citizenship and a sense of community ethos and recognise differences as well as similarities between people and peoples; be aware of your own and others' cultural heritage and sensitive to the ethical and moral issues raised by their studies.” HPL – Professor Deborah Ayre
The GRDS community are grateful for the position we are in to reach out and support others, in our school, local and wider international community. Almost all our charitable events are student inspired and led and facilitated by the teachers. Over the years we have supported a range of UAE charities including Dubai Cares, Red Crescent, Al Jalila Foundation, Dubai Foundation for Women and Children and the Noor Foundation. We are currently in partnership with Rawafed Centre a local charity school with whom we have a close relationship and continue to support.
“We make a living by what we get but we get a life by what we give” – Winston Churchill
